With the global surge in artificial intelligence (AI), images generated by AI have become increasingly common, and some have even organized AI beauty pageants.
According to the subscription-based social network Fanvue, it recently announced a collaboration with the World AI Creators Awards (WAICA) to host the "Miss AI World" contest. The beauty pageant results will be announced on May 10th, with an award ceremony scheduled for later in the month.
The competition rules are as follows: According to the WAICA official website, individuals can upload their own AI-generated beauties, and judges will evaluate them based on the beauty of the digital contestants, the quality of the generation technology, and their influence on social media to select the final winner.
Fanvue co-founder Will Monange stated, "We share a common vision, hoping that WAICA will become the Oscars of the artificial intelligence creator economy."
He added that the award will recognize the hard work of digital creators, as creating these AI models and influencers requires a significant amount of skill, time, and effort.
To participate in the competition, creators need to submit a 100% AI-generated image of a beauty and answer a series of questions, including how and why the model was created, how many fans it has, how its content generates revenue, and how much income it has generated.
It's worth noting that creators can submit an unlimited number of entries to the competition, as long as each entry features a different AI-generated model.
In this event, rewards of up to $13,000 will be given, including a $5,000 check, a $3,000 mentoring scholarship, and $5,000 in public relations support. The runner-up and third place will receive $5,000 and $2,000 respectively.
Ironically, the Miss AI World pageant will be judged by AI-generated social media influencers, namely Aitana Lopez and Emily Pellegrini. With hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram, Lopez, a 25-year-old pink-haired AI fitness model, and Pellegrini, a sultry brunette AI model designed by Fanvue creators, will hold the judging reins.
Of course, there are also live judges, such as Sally-Ann Fawcett, the Miss England head judge and beauty pageant historian, along with marketing expert Andrew Bloch.
The exact date of the awards ceremony is yet to be confirmed, but the terms and conditions of the competition stipulate that all awards will be presented and fully paid by August 1, 2024.
