65fa707ce4b03b5da6d0b800.png The fourth volume of the "Important Scientific and Technological Innovations of Ancient China" commemorative stamp series features nine stamps: Cartographic Six Principles, Potala Palace, Chinese Calendar, Prescriptions, Tea Cultivation, Systems of Linear Equations and Their Solutions, Porcelain, Mariner's Compass, Zheng He's Voyages. They are classified into fields such as Optics, Earth science and Rhythm studies, Civil engineering, Astronomy, Medicine, Agronomy and Textiles, Mathematics, Materials and Manufacturing, Machinery and Instruments, Vehicles and Vessels, and Gunpowder and Firearms. Among them, the "Tea Cultivation" stamp is printed on tea paper, with dark green tea leaves embedded in the rustic paper to create a refreshing and natural atmosphere. At the event, Han Yi and Huang Xing, researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of the History of Natural Sciences, introduced the two important ancient scientific and technological inventions of materia medica and the compass through interviews. The commemorative envelope of "Important Ancient Chinese Technological Inventions" is based on the research achievements of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute for History of Natural Sciences. The 88 selected inventions are jointly issued by China Post, the Bureau of Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Science and Technology Communication Center of China Association for Science and Technology. It is a sub-series of China Post's "Commemorative Envelopes for the Development of Chinese Science and Technology."

This set of commemorative envelopes is planned to be issued in 10 volumes, with one volume issued per quarter. It aims to showcase the scientific achievements of ancient China and its technological civilization, spread scientific ideas, and promote the scientific spirit.

Designed by Zhang Panjian and Zhang Qingfeng, the commemorative envelope is exquisite, quaint, and elegant. It integrates professional graphics, popular science animations, and interactive games. The content is rich, detailed, and interactive, embodying the collaborative effort of the scientific and philatelic communities to excavate the essence of Chinese traditional culture and contribute to the inheritance and development of scientific culture.

This event is jointly hosted by the Bureau of Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Science and Technology Communication Center of China Association for Science and Technology, the Institute for History of Natural Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Philatelic Corporation, and China Association of Science and Technology Journalists. It is undertaken by China Post Group Corporation Beijing Branch and the Philatelic Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and co-organized by China Science and Technology Press Co., Ltd.
