On May 26th, the Guangzhou-Foshan South Ring and Foshan-Dongguan intercity lines officially commenced operation at 12 o'clock today. The two newly opened intercity lines are connected end-to-end with the already operational Foshan-Zhaoqing intercity and Dongguan-Huizhou intercity lines, realizing the operation of the "Four Lines".
After the operation, a 258-kilometer-long transportation artery spanning 5 cities in an east-west direction will be formed. This will bring Foshan and the central area of Dongguan into the half-hour commuting circle of Guangzhou, and the central areas of Zhaoqing and Huizhou into the one-hour commuting circle of Guangzhou.
According to the "Guangdong Intercity" public account, the entire line has a total of 39 stations, including 5 in Guangzhou, 9 in Foshan, 6 in Zhaoqing, 12 in Dongguan, and 7 in Huizhou. The maximum operating speed of the trains is 200 kilometers per hour.
The route has fully adopted the "stop-by-stop + express service at major stations" bus operation mode, running the "Zhaoqing Station - Xiaojinkou Station" and "Foshan West Station - Xiaojinkou Station" routes, with an average headway of 26 minutes.
In terms of ticket prices, the newly opened Guangfo South Ring and Foshan-Dongguan Intercity routes have a full fare of 21 yuan and 22 yuan respectively. The full fare from Zhaoqing to Huizhou is 153 yuan. The route will implement a dual ticketing system of "12306 + intercity bus-rail multi-payment."
