Since 2019, the Institute of Oil Crops, in collaboration with Wuyuan County, has been actively promoting rural revitalization through scientific demonstrations. Leveraging its technological and talent advantages, the institute has emphasized collaborative and integrated innovation. By harnessing local resources in Wuyuan, the focus has been on three main categories: integrating canola farming with culture and tourism, developing functional rapeseed oil and canola greens, and integrating various functions into new canola varieties. Key technologies include efficient cultivation, dual-use of canola for oil and vegetables, and 7D local green processing. Additionally, they've developed customized techniques for year-round canola flower seas. These efforts have significantly boosted canola production capacity and the integrated development of the canola industry, making it a pillar of Wuyuan's economy.

Currently, the comprehensive output value of the canola culture, tourism, and agriculture industries accounts for over 30% of Wuyuan's GDP. In comparison to 2019, by 2023, the area of canola cultivation in Wuyuan County increased by 4.57%, total production increased by 22.08%, and comprehensive income increased by 24.1%, securing its position as the top destination for canola flower tourism in the country.

During the visit, representatives inspected the rural revitalization and integration of canola culture, tourism, and agriculture demonstration sites in Shimen Village, Qiukou Town. They observed activities at the County Vocational College for Rural Revitalization, modern agricultural demonstration gardens, and science popularization bases. Discussions and workshops were held regarding the current status, challenges, and technological needs of industries such as canola, tea, fruit trees, and honey production. Experts were invited to present reports and provide training on the multifunctional utilization of canola, field management of pests and diseases, operational strategies for canola greens, and theoretical and practical aspects of integrating canola with culture, tourism, and agriculture.
