According to the introduction, since 2019, the Oil Crops Research Institute has been collaborating with Wuyuan County to build a technology demonstration county for rural revitalization. It has fully leveraged its technological and talent advantages, strengthened collaborative innovation and chain-integrated innovation. Combining with the local resources and endowments of Wuyuan, the institute has focused on the development of three main products: the integration of rapeseed farming, culture, and tourism; functional rapeseed oil; and functional rapeseed sprouts. It has integrated multi-functional rapeseed varieties, key technologies such as efficient cultivation, dual-use rapeseed oil, and 7D green processing in the production area, and created customized technology for rapeseed flower seas in all seasons. This has significantly increased rapeseed production capacity, promoted the integrated development of the rapeseed industry, and made it a pillar industry of Wuyuan's economy.
Currently, the comprehensive output value of the rapeseed farming, culture, and tourism-related industries accounts for more than 30% of Wuyuan's GDP. Compared with 2019, in 2023, the rapeseed planting area in Wuyuan County increased by 4.57%, total production increased by 22.08%, and comprehensive income increased by 24.1%, ranking first in rapeseed flower tourism in the country.
The participants visited the demonstration sites for rural revitalization and the integration of rapeseed farming, culture, and tourism in Shimen Village, Qiukou Town.
