The 2nd China Local Specialty Prepackaged Food Symposium and the Industrial Development Conference of Huaiyang Flavored Cuisine were held in Yangzhou from March 23rd to 24th, 2024. The conference, themed "Conquering Key Technologies for Industrialization of Chinese Cuisine and Deepening the Comprehensive Implementation of Prepackaged Food Processing Industry," was guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and co-hosted by Yangzhou University and Food Partner Network. Several experts and scholars focused on a series of cutting-edge technological achievements in the prepackaged food industry and delivered keynote speeches. More than 200 representatives from 45 research institutes and 22 enterprises nationwide gathered to discuss the development plan of prepackaged food.
Mr. Zhu Xinhua, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated at the conference that Jiangsu has abundant high-quality agricultural resources, a strong foundation in agricultural processing industry, and a gathering of scientific and technological innovation resources, demonstrating the strength for the development of the prepackaged food industry. As the birthplace of Huaiyang cuisine, Jiangsu has Yangzhou and Huai'an, two "World Food Capitals." It is incumbent upon Jiangsu to promote the industrial development of Huaiyang flavored cuisine. This conference, closely following the significant requirement of "tailoring measures to local conditions" and focusing on themes such as "innovation," "quality excellence," and "advanced productivity," is a vivid practice to cultivate new productive forces in the prepackaged food industry. It will surely vigorously promote the high-quality development of Jiangsu's fine prepackaged food industry, represented by Huaiyang cuisine.
The prepackaged food industry is a new approach to the food processing of agricultural products, serving as an effective carrier for agricultural industrialization. Ms. Gong Weijuan, Vice President of Yangzhou University, stated that the smooth convening of this conference is of great significance for the innovative development and industrial production of local specialty prepackaged food. Yangzhou University will continue to leverage its advantages and characteristics to contribute more wisdom and strength to the development of local specialty industries.
