On April 17th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference, where Chen Jiachang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Yu Yingjie, member of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Education Working Committee, and Chen Kelong, Director of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced the relevant information of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum and answered questions from reporters.
The 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference will be held in Beijing from April 25th to 29th. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Beijing Municipal Government, this year's forum carries the theme "Innovation: Building a Better World". The conference will feature five main sections including forum sessions, technology transactions, results releases, frontier competitions, and supporting activities, with nearly 120 events planned.
Over 100 countries and regions, as well as more than 150 foreign government departments and international organizations, have been invited to attend the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference. Participants will focus on topics such as technology innovation leading social progress, improving people's livelihoods, and sustainable development, aiming to discuss open innovation and seek development opportunities, contributing wisdom and strength to building a better world.
It is reported that the Technology Transaction Conference will hold 30 events during the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, including 6 key country-to-country matchmaking sessions such as the UK, Italy, and South Korea, 4 national-level technology transfer "debut" events, and 8 high-end product "launch" events. These will gather over 6,000 innovative projects from more than 40 countries and regions such as the UK, France, Germany, and Japan, presenting lists of top new technologies and products as well as international technology trading projects, continuing to build a global technology trading event of "buying globally, selling globally".
During the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference, there will also be concurrent frontier competitions, with 8 competition zones both domestically and internationally. Following the principle of "global invitation, on-site competition", over 3,100 projects from 75 countries and regions will be collected, covering various cutting-edge fields such as quantum information, photon computing, and meta-universe. The final competition will be held during the forum, and a "succession service, growth assistance" mechanism will be established to provide comprehensive services including investment and financing, space landing, and market docking for participating companies.
