Tesla to Cut More Employees in China Amid New Round of Layoffs

On May 9th, it was reported that Tesla's layoff actions in China are set to continue.

Following the layoffs in mid-April, the company initiated a new round of layoffs earlier this week.

Although Tesla previously announced a global layoff plan of 10%, the exact number of affected employees and the specific impact on its Chinese operations remain unclear.

Over the weekend, Tesla issued layoff notices to employees in departments such as software, services, and engineering.

Elon Musk provided several reasons for the layoffs: firstly, he mentioned that the rapid increase in Tesla's workforce over the past few years has led to inefficiencies in recruitment and job overlaps;

Secondly, Musk informed investors and employees that the layoffs are part of a restructuring for the company's "next stage of growth."

Furthermore, there are reports that due to a 20% decrease in Tesla's quarterly car deliveries, Musk aims to cut 20% of the workforce.

These series of layoff decisions indicate Tesla's efforts to adjust its global workforce to adapt to current market conditions and prepare for future business expansions. s_e131f3156c70469db3dc34e5d245ff1a.jpg
