On March 17th, Tesla announced yet another price increase for its Model Y.

Tesla officially stated that it would raise the prices of its Model Y electric vehicles in several European countries starting March 22nd, with an increase of approximately €2,000 (roughly equivalent to ¥15,660 RMB) or its equivalent in local currency.

Furthermore, Tesla also announced in the United States that starting April 1st, the price of the Model Y sold in the US would increase by $1,000 (about ¥7,200 RMB), marking the second price hike for the Model Y within a month in the region.

On March 1st, Tesla increased the prices of the rear-wheel-drive and long-range versions of the Model Y in the US by $1,000, raising their prices to $43,990 (approximately ¥317,000 RMB) and $48,990 (currently around ¥353,000 RMB), respectively.

However, in China, under the pressure of a new round of price wars initiated by domestic manufacturers such as BYD, Tesla also announced simultaneous discounts.

Until the end of March, the rear-wheel-drive versions of Model 3 and Model Y are eligible for an ¥8,000 insurance subsidy. There's also a limited-time offer for all models: designated car paint benefits worth tens of thousands of RMB and a low-interest finance policy for rear-wheel-drive versions, with an annual fee as low as 1.99%.

Currently, the prices of various versions of the Model Y in China are as follows: ¥258,900 for the rear-wheel-drive version, ¥299,900 for the all-wheel-drive long-range version, and ¥363,900 for the performance version.

Although the adjustment is not as significant as that of other automakers, it marks Tesla's third price reduction in China since the beginning of the year, with models like the Model Y now reaching historically low prices. 60d21ae5-89f1-46c8-ac18-be3e0bdf4bb6.png
