On May 3rd, it was reported by domestic media that a Tesla was involved in a traffic accident in Zibo, Shandong, where it collided and caught fire.
Surveillance footage shows the white Tesla driving on the road, crashing into the barrier in the middle of the road at high speed. Subsequently, the vehicle emitted white smoke, indicating signs of overheating.
Fortunately, a firefighter on vacation happened to pass by at that moment and immediately stopped to help.
Upon arrival, he found the vehicle already on fire with occupants trapped inside, unable to open the concealed door handles.
He grabbed a fire extinguisher, put out the fire inside the vehicle, and together with bystanders, used a pry bar to break open the front doors, successfully rescuing the trapped occupants.
Shortly after the rescue, the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames and burnt down. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze.
As of now, Tesla has not released any official statement regarding the accident. Further updates are awaited.
It is worth noting that recently, in Yuncheng, Shanxi, a WM Motor M7 was also involved in a rear-end collision resulting in the entire vehicle catching fire, with doors unable to open promptly. Bystanders managed to rescue three trapped individuals from the vehicle in time, but unfortunately, all three perished.
