On May 12th, according to CCTV News, on May 11th local time, nearly a thousand protesters gathered outside Tesla's Gigafactory in Grünheide, Brandenburg, Germany, to demonstrate against Tesla's proposed expansion plans.

The protest has been ongoing for several days, with local residents concerned that the expansion project could pollute water sources. They are demanding that the local government does not approve the expansion plan.

Currently, it is unclear whether the protests will impact the official approval of Tesla's factory expansion by local authorities.

However, it is worth noting that Tesla's German factory has faced multiple protests and attacks in the past, and even had to halt production due to power outages.

Earlier reports indicated that on March 5th, someone allegedly set fire to high-voltage lines near Tesla's Berlin factory in Germany, causing a power outage and halting production.

The factory remained shut down until March 13th. Tesla's German factory manager, André Thierig, stated that during the shutdown, over 1,000 cars could not be produced daily, resulting in losses amounting to a high six-figure sum.

A local extremist group called the "Volcano Organization" claimed responsibility for the arson on the 5th, alleging that the Tesla factory impacts the environment and local water supply, engaging in "extreme exploitation." The factory currently employs around 12,500 people.

Furthermore, Tesla's German factory has faced several protests in the past due to environmental concerns and other reasons. s_03cb0df952a14b49bf6a358068d88ec8.jpg
