On March 8th, it's been all over the news: no matter what age children are, companionship and love are the most important elements for their joyful growth.

Given the current work hours, many working individuals need to clock in at 9 a.m. and clock out at 6 p.m., or even work overtime until 9 p.m., which makes it a luxury for many young parents to spend quality time with their children.

During the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference sessions, a suggestion from a deputy has gained attention, proposing flexible work hours for parents of minors, and it's gaining support from numerous netizens.

Reportedly, Shang Haihong, the head of the teaching and research group at Luqiao Street Experimental Primary School in Luqiao District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, proposed: implementing flexible work hours for parents of minors or other guardians, to better accompany children's growth.

She mentioned that with intensified social competition and higher workplace demands, many young parents lack sufficient time to be with their children, which can easily lead to issues such as children's low self-esteem and weak interpersonal skills.

Shang suggested implementing flexible work hours for parents of minors or other guardians who need to pick up or take care of their children, allowing them more flexibility in their work schedules. s_8e3e76ec3cf547d9b08aa183f2cae75d.jpg
