April 8th News - According to official sources from Ideal Motors, the highly anticipated product launch event for the all-new Ideal L6 is scheduled for April 18th at 8:00 PM. The L6 stands as Ideal Motors' flagship model for this year, having already been officially registered and featured in numerous real-world exposures.
The dimensions of the new car are 4925/1960/1735mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2920mm. Positioned as a mid-size SUV with five seats, it's slightly smaller than the L7, targeting young families as their first luxurious five-seater SUV.
Its frontal design closely resembles the L7, featuring the family's signature continuous daytime running lights. The small lamps on both sides are seamlessly connected to the entire daytime running light strip, while the lower section houses the main body of the segmented light group.
The "matryoshka doll" manufacturing model has proven highly successful for the Ideal L9, L8, and L7. However, there's now a significant consumer resistance emerging, particularly towards the L6 model. Encouraging more young families to embrace the L6 is a crucial step that Ideal needs to focus on.
The side and rear also adhere to the family-style design, characterized by a minimalist and sleek overall appearance. The license plate frame at the rear is positioned on the bumper, reminiscent of the previous Ideal L7 model (the new L7 model has relocated the license plate frame to the tailgate).
In terms of powertrain, the L6 still features a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as its range extender system, with a maximum power output of 113 kilowatts. The vehicle is driven by an electric motor, although its power specifications are currently unclear.
Unlike the L7/8/9 models, the L6, positioned as the entry-level option, will be equipped across the lineup with lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. (CATL) and Xinwanda Group. It retains the front double wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension, with no air suspension across the lineup. Priced between 250,000 to 300,000 CNY, it competes with models like the M7.
It's worth noting that there have been rumors circulating online suggesting that the L6 lineup will be equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with prices starting at 259,800 CNY and reaching up to 289,800 CNY. However, official sources have promptly denied these claims, stating that all current speculations regarding pricing are merely speculation.
