On April 22nd, BYD officially launched the mid-size SUV Tang EV Honor Edition, Tang DM-p Honor Edition, and the 2024 Tang DM-p War God Edition, introducing a total of 6 configuration models with prices ranging from 219,800 to 269,800 RMB. The official also introduced the Honor Renewal Gift, Honor Worry-Free Gift, Honor VIP Gift, and Honor Smart Connection Gift, details of which can be found in the image below.
In terms of design, the new cars all continue the Dragon Face design language. The EV Glory Edition features a closed front grille, while the DM-p Glory Edition adopts a dragon scale-style design for the front air intake grille. The silver decorative strip running through the top embodies the essence of a dragon's beard. At the rear, the cars are equipped with BYD's latest through-style Chinese knot element LED taillights.
The car has received a comprehensive upgrade, offering 10-point seat massage, intelligent fragrance system, HiFi-grade bespoke Dynaudio audio, touch-sensitive LED reading lights, 6-nanometer 5G smart chip, 50W wireless charging for phones, 3D control of the vehicle, parking unlock, UWB digital key, W-HUD head-up display, and full-vehicle intelligent voice interaction.
The entire lineup also comes standard with Cloud Chariot-C and Intelligent Cabin High Edition-DiLink 100. The Cloud Chariot-C features an intelligent damping chassis control system, allowing for millisecond-level adjustment of suspension damping. This enhances suspension stiffness during rapid acceleration, deceleration, and high-speed cornering, effectively suppressing body pitch and roll, thus improving vehicle handling.
The BYD Tang EV Glory Edition is equipped with an AC permanent magnet synchronous motor. The single-motor version delivers horsepower and peak torque of 350 Nm, while the dual-motor version boasts 517 horsepower and peak torque of 700 Nm, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.4 seconds.
Depending on the configuration, it comes with either a 90.3 kWh or 108.8 kWh battery pack, offering corresponding ranges of 600 km, 730 km, and 635 km.
The Tang DM-p Glory Edition and the 2024 War God Edition feature a hybrid system composed of a XA15Ti efficient engine turbocharged to 1.5 liters, paired with an electric motor. The engine produces a maximum power of 102 kW and peak torque of 231 Nm, while the front motor outputs 160 kW and the rear motor 200 kW.
Paired with a hybrid-specific lithium iron phosphate "blade battery," the NEDC pure electric range reaches 215 km, with a fuel consumption of 6.5 L/100 km when the battery is depleted.
