At last month's Honor Spring Flagship New Product Launch Event, Honor unveiled two flagship new models, the Honor Magic6 Ultimate Edition and the Honor Magic6 RSR Porsche Design.
Now, as time goes on, Honor has introduced another model priced at around a thousand CNY - the Honor Play 50.
Today, the official Honor Mobile Weibo account announced: "Honor Play 50 is here! With 256GB super large storage, 5200mAh high-energy battery, high-brightness clear and dynamic screen, and durable and reliable quality. Pre-sale starts at 10:08 on April 12th, welcome to pre-order!"
In terms of design, the Honor Play 50 adopts a stellar track design, inspired by the beauty of the galaxy. It comes in three color options: Starry Purple, Ink Jade Green, and Midnight Black. With a thickness of 8.39mm and weighing approximately 190 grams, the device combines sleekness with a comfortable feel.
The Honor Play 50 comes with a 6.56-inch waterdrop display, boasting a resolution of 1612 x 720 and a peak brightness of 780 nits. It supports a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz and features eye protection technologies such as natural light simulation, DC dimming, and eye protection mode.
In terms of display, the Honor Play 50 supports Dynamic Capsules and AOD (Always-On Display).
In terms of performance, the Honor Play 50 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, featuring 2x 2.2GHz A76 cores + 6x 2.0GHz A55 cores for the CPU, and Mali G57 MC2 for the GPU.
For imaging, the Honor Play 50 boasts a 5-megapixel front camera (f/2.2 aperture) and a 13-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture) on the rear.
When it comes to battery life, the Honor Play 50 houses a 5200mAh battery, claiming to withstand "4 years of aging". Official data indicates it can support up to 20 hours of online video streaming or 19 hours of short video playback. Additionally, the device features a super power-saving mode, enabling 3 hours of calls or 22 hours of standby time when the battery is at 10%. Moreover, the new device comes with a standard 5V/2A charger.
In terms of user experience, the Honor Play 50 excels in audio calls with its exceptionally loud volume, ensuring clarity even in noisy environments. Additionally, it features large font size by default upon startup, making it easier to find apps and read news with enhanced clarity.
The Honor Play 50 supports features like Simple Mode, Exam Paper Restoration, and Fraud Prevention Alerts.
The Honor Play 50 is priced at ¥1,199 for the 6GB + 128GB version and ¥1,399 for the 8GB + 256GB version.
Messages about the next generation of Honor's digital series have started to surface, alongside the Honor Play series.
Blogger @FixedFocusDigital recently leaked: "It's basically confirmed that the iterative machine won't be named Honor 110, instead, it will be called 2 Double Open."
According to the leaks, the next iteration of the Honor Digital series might be named the Honor 200 series.
Furthermore, blogger @Smart Pikachu's leaks suggest: "The Honor Digital series is coming soon, tentatively after May Day, with a glossy body, irregular module design, 8S Gen3, 8 Gen3. High-pixel beauty mode for the front camera, main rear camera with a dedicated portrait lens. Sample machines support adjustable aperture, offline shipments for the previous generation exceeded expectations, and this generation will continue to ramp up efforts. There's also consistent progress on a large-sized tablet."
According to the leak, the Honor 200 series is tentatively scheduled for release after the May Day holiday. It will feature a glossy body design with a non-standard module setup. There will be two versions available: one with Snapdragon 8s Gen3 and the other with Snapdragon 8 Gen3. The front camera will have high pixel beauty capabilities, while the rear main camera will come with a dedicated portrait lens. The prototype also includes support for variable aperture.
Moreover, the leaker revealed that the offline sales volume of the Honor 100 series exceeded expectations, leading to increased efforts for the next generation products.
In addition to smartphones, Honor will also launch a large-sized tablet, with progress aligned with the Honor 200 series.
