News from March 21 is that Xiaomi officially released its first "fashion flagship"-oriented product—the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro—this afternoon.
This device has seen a large upgrade from its previous mid-tier positioning, bringing the third-generation Snapdragon 8s's powerful performance, Leica's imaging system, as well as the transfer of several flagship configurations from the Xiaomi digital series.
Henceforth, all Xiaomi smartphones are flagship smartphones. In terms of design, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro retains the basic design of its predecessor, with a centered dual-camera punch hole on the front and a circular module on the back. However, the back has been upgraded with the "Auspicious Phantom Color" process, creating a unique "Emerald Meadow" color scheme.
The Xiaomi 14 Pro sports a 6.55-inch full depth micro-curved display, striking a balance between the immersive feel of a curved screen and the practicality of a flat panel. This unique screen design eliminates the "cat ears" commonly seen on curved displays and minimizes accidental touches.
The phone's sleek contours and curved edges seamlessly blend with its ergonomic metal frame, providing an enhanced grip and a premium look. The curved surfaces cradle the palm comfortably, while the flat edges dissipate heat more efficiently.
Imaging
The most significant upgrade is in the imaging department. The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is the first Xiaomi phone outside the numeric series to feature Leica's imaging system, and it debuts three professional Leica lenses: a 50MP Leica Summilux lens, a 50MP Leica portrait lens, and a 12MP Leica ultrawide lens.
The front-facing camera has dual 32MP lenses, consisting of a 78° "beauty mirror" lens without distortion or cropping, and a 100° ultra-wide lens, forming a bionic dual-eye camera system. Both the front and rear cameras support four focal lengths, providing greater photographic freedom. The main shooter boasts the Xiaomi 14 Pro's primary Light Hunter 800 sensor, featuring a large 1/1.55-inch size, 2.0μm pixel size, 13.2EV dynamic range, and an f/1.63 aperture, the largest intake among the Xiaomi Civi series.
The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro also packs the Xiaomi Image Brain 3.0, which is the same AI-powered large model computing photography platform, Xiaomi AISP, from the flagship Xiaomi Image 14 Ultra.
Leveraging the full potential of the chipset's processing units, the device employs four distinct AI models to perform pixel-accurate calculations on subjects, backgrounds, and lighting, building upon the exceptional imaging capabilities of the Leica optics.
The exclusive facial enhancement algorithm for the Civi series has been upgraded to AIGAN, introducing pixel-level skin rejuvenation technology. The device now features five additional AI-driven facial enhancement packages, 12 AI-powered portrait makeup options, and nine portrait style packages. Supported by the Xiaomi AISP's high processing power, the device caters to a broader range of photography needs. It even supports the same "Master Portrait" feature as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. It uses a human portrait model combined with AI GAN pixel-level skin renewal technology to instantly correct obvious flaws, even on the front camera.
In other aspects, the phone is also equipped with Xiaomi's self-developed Pengpai T1 signal enhancement chip, stereo dual speakers, 67W fast charging, and other features, making its configuration very balanced. Regarding pricing, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is available in three storage variants: 12+256GB for 2999 CNY, 12+512GB for 3299 CNY, and 16+512GB for 3599 CNY. The top-end variant also comes with a limited-edition color option, priced the same as the regular variants.
