On March 11th, the Chery Star Way Yao Guang C-DM was officially launched, offering a total of 5 models priced between 159,800 and 225,800 RMB.
This vehicle is based on the Star Way M3X hybrid platform, featuring a hybrid system composed of a 1.5TGDI hybrid-specific engine and an electric motor, providing a comprehensive range of up to 1343 kilometers.
The StarWay YaoGuang C-DM, despite being a new energy SUV, maintains the design of the fuel version model. Its front face features a borderless grille, giving it a strong overall presence. With dimensions measuring 4781/1920/1671mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 2815mm, it is positioned as a mid-size SUV.
The design features a sporty, coupe-style SUV silhouette with a sleek, elongated body and a sloping roofline. It exudes a sense of athleticism with its straight, slender waistline and hidden door handle design. The petal-shaped alloy wheels complement the overall stylish appearance.
The interior is absolutely luxurious, featuring a 24.6-inch curved dual-screen setup and a touch-sensitive steering wheel. It's sleek and minimalist, with the air conditioning knobs on the center console looking extremely stylish, giving off a vibe reminiscent of luxury sports cars. This model truly stands out as one of Chery's most visually appealing SUVs to date.
In terms of features, it lives up to the high standards of domestic brands, offering heated seats throughout, ventilated front seats, driver's seat memory, electric release door handles, leg rests, adaptive headlights, power-adjustable second-row seatbacks, a 14-speaker branded audio system, leather seats, and now includes CDC adaptive electromagnetic suspension.
As for power, the YaoGuang C-DM's hybrid system consists of the fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI efficient hybrid engine (officially touted as "world-class"), a three-mode hybrid DHT, hybrid-specific batteries, and a battery management system.
The two-wheel drive model is equipped with dual-drive motors, with a maximum total power of 270 kW and peak torque of 605 N·m; while the four-wheel drive model is matched with three motors, with a maximum power exceeding 400 kW and peak torque exceeding 900 N·m, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in around 4 seconds.
The Yaoguang C-DM is powered by either a 19.43 kWh ternary lithium battery from Guoxuan High-tech or a 34.46 kWh battery from CATL. Its pure electric range under WLTC conditions is 83 km and 160 km respectively, with overall ranges of 1300 km and 1343 km. WLTC electric mode energy consumption is rated at 5.4 L/100 km and 5.6 L/100 km for the respective battery options.
