According to the meteorological department on April 15, southern regions are gearing up for another round of heavy rainfall, with the main rainy period expected from the night of the 15th through the night of the 16th to daytime on the 17th.

Experts predict that parts of Hunan, Jiangxi, Hubei, southern and central parts of Zhejiang, northern and central parts of Fujian, eastern and southern parts of the Sichuan Basin, Guizhou, and Chongqing will experience hourly rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimeters, with some areas exceeding 60 millimeters. Moreover, these areas will also experience thunderstorm winds of levels 8 to 10, locally reaching level 11 or above, as well as hail.

Experts advise that thunderstorm winds are a type of severe convective weather often accompanied by intense lightning, strong winds, and short-term heavy precipitation.

Before the arrival of thunderstorm winds, residents should try to minimize outdoor activities, especially avoiding open areas, high ground, hilltops, and places under large trees where lightning strikes are more likely.

Indoors, residents should close doors and windows securely to prevent strong winds from entering. Items that may be affected by strong winds, such as billboards and flower pots, should be properly placed or reinforced to avoid causing harm.

Avoid wading in water during thunderstorm winds, especially in flooded areas, or driving vehicles, as strong winds may cause swift currents and pose safety hazards. s_84205a526af24fdab7c821e0fca60f90.jpg
