On May 26th, it was reported that a new generation of laptops based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite is gradually being released. Despite all being named Snapdragon X Elite, the specifications vary greatly. In the official spec sheet alone, there are four different versions with significant differences in CPU and GPU frequencies.

The top-tier version is the "X1E-00-1DE," with a maximum multi-core CPU frequency of 3.8GHz and a maximum single/dual-core frequency of 4.3GHz. The GPU frequency is not specified, only marked with a maximum computing power of 4.6TFlops (4.6 trillion floating-point calculations per second).

The next level down is the "X1-E84-100," with slightly lower single/dual-core frequencies at a maximum of 4.2GHz, while other specifications remain the same.

Following that is the "X1E-80-100," which sees a significant decrease. The maximum multi-core CPU frequency drops to 3.4GHz, and the maximum single/dual-core frequency drops to 4.0GHz, with GPU computing power also greatly reduced to 3.8TFlops.

The lowest-end version is the "X1E-78-100," which eliminates the higher single/dual-core boost frequencies, treating all cores equally.

It can be said that the naming and specifications of these four versions show no clear pattern. Therefore, when considering purchasing a Snapdragon X Elite laptop, be sure to clarify the specifications to avoid ending up with a lower-performance version. s_c4585e5f0102475cbba87f0103b1fa44.png As for the Snapdragon X Plus, it only comes in one version, the "X1P-64-100". Essentially, it is based on the X1E-78-100 but with a reduction in CPU cores from 12 to 10. Other aspects remain mostly unchanged, such as the 42MB cache and GPU computing power at 3.8 TFlops. s_e248d64d2dda47eda7eadcbab584cd7c.png On other fronts, the specifications of the Snapdragon X Elite/Plus versions remain consistent:

Dual-core NPU, with a maximum computing power of 45TOPS;

Memory support for LPDDR5X-8448, with a maximum capacity of 64GB and a bandwidth of 135GB/s;

Storage support for PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, UFS 4.0, SD 3.0;

Video output includes on-screen DP 1.4b, with a maximum UHD120 HDR10; off-screen DP 1.4, supporting up to UHD60 HDR10 for three screens and up to 5K60 for dual screens;

Baseband Snapdragon X65, with a maximum download speed of 10Gbps and upload speed of 3.5Gbps;

Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, three USB4, two USB 3.2 Gen2... s_d6cc576114dd41e4b970f36252f4fee1.jpg
