In an announcement on April 7th, iQOO's product manager, Xing Cheng, unveiled the latest addition to the iQOO lineup – the iQOO Z9 Turbo.
Reportedly, the iQOO Z9 Turbo debuts with the first batch sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen3 platform, coupled with a massive 6000mAh battery. This marks the largest battery capacity ever seen on a Snapdragon 8s Gen3 device, promising exceptional battery life performance.
As the most formidable Z series smartphone in iQOO's history, the iQOO Z9 Turbo is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen3, a chip that's been hailed as a marvel of its generation. Compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, the 8s Gen3 variant adopts a 1+4+3 CPU configuration—comprising one 3.0GHz Cortex-X4 super core, four 2.8GHz Cortex-A720 large cores, and three 2.0GHz A520 small cores.
In essence, the Snapdragon 8s Gen3 sees a reduction in core frequency across the board. The CPU configuration shifts from one less large core to one additional medium core, enhancing power efficiency and allowing users to enjoy the benefits of improved battery life.
Moreover, the iQOO Z9 Turbo will feature a 6.78-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1260, hitting the 1.5K mark. The screen supports a peak refresh rate of 144Hz and a high-frequency PWM dimming of 2160Hz, along with 80W fast charging capabilities.
