On April 16th, Sichuan Province convened a meeting to discuss further promoting the development and application of the entire green hydrogen industry chain.

At the meeting, officials from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Transportation stated that they will actively explore policy space, increase guidance efforts, and explore the possibility of completely waiving highway tolls for hydrogen energy vehicles. They also aim to encourage city governments to lift restrictions on hydrogen energy trucks in urban areas and promote the comprehensive renewal of hydrogen energy equipment in cities where conditions permit.

Officials from the Sichuan Development and Reform Commission revealed that Sichuan will further explore off-grid electrolysis for hydrogen production and coordinate the planning and construction of hydrogen refueling stations and charging infrastructure. Subsidies will be provided to hydrogen refueling stations similar to charging infrastructure to alleviate the high cost of hydrogen utilization and the lack of infrastructure such as refueling stations.

It is worth mentioning that Shandong Province has already begun exempting hydrogen vehicles equipped with ETC devices from highway tolls on Shandong provincial highways since March 1st of this year.

This policy will be implemented for a trial period of two years, with adjustments made as necessary based on its implementation. s_408231950d8647a696c2d3c5e8ea2e61.png
