April 21st news report states that the Shenzhou-18 manned spacecraft is scheduled for an upcoming launch window. The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center has coordinated a full system joint drill across all units involved.

This drill was conducted in strict accordance with the official launch protocol. The launch site system was centrally managed, encompassing checks on the launch tower, rocket, spacecraft, and other subsystems. Every phase, from flight preparation and ignition to rocket-spacecraft separation, was simulated to ensure a smooth launch process.

The astronauts of Shenzhou-18 also underwent simulated flight missions following established procedures. After entering the spacecraft's re-entry module, they conducted integrated tests involving the crew, spacecraft, rocket, and ground systems. During the simulated rocket launch, the astronauts completed all critical operations required for the pre-launch and launch phases, which are crucial for the successful ascent of the spacecraft.

This comprehensive system drill served not only as a rehearsal for the launch process but also as a test of the reliability and safety of the various systems.

The drill enhanced the coordination between systems and further confirmed the reliability and safety of the launch process.

Yang Liwei, the Deputy Chief Designer of the China Manned Space Agency, previously outlined the ambitious plans for space missions in 2024. This year, the Chinese manned space program will undertake a series of significant and densely scheduled launches, totaling six major missions.

These include the launches of Tianzhou-7, Tianzhou-8, Shenzhou-18, and Shenzhou-19, as well as the recovery missions for Shenzhou-17 and Shenzhou-18. Additionally, a series of development missions are being vigorously pursued. s_c5a24e868c464d30b751cdfa1644d1e7.png
