Shanghai Jiao Tong University Launches Series of Activities Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of China-France Diplomatic Relations

On May 8th, the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Paris (SAIP) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University held a launch ceremony for a series of activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations. Building on a century of studying in France, the event introduced the "Seven Dimensions and One Core" series of activities, including the publication of the oral history book "Origin of Excellence," the creation of the original bilingual play "Red Light," hosting an exhibition on the work-study movement in France, establishing the "Red Light" advocacy team, expanding the "Great Ideological and Political Education" cooperation base, conducting interviews with outstanding individuals who studied in France under the theme of "Excellence in France," and organizing cross-border social practices on sustainable development. 663b4542e4b03b5da6d0e652.jpg At the conference venue, Chen Cailian, Secretary of the Party Committee of the ParisTech Shanghai Jiao Tong University Engineering School, gave an overview. She pointed out that the ParisTech Engineering School, in collaboration between China and France, has developed a rich array of activities based on the tradition of working while studying in France, nurturing engineers with a strong sense of patriotism and global competence. In the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations, the school launched the "Seven Dimensions and One Core" series of activities, inviting all parties to contribute to the education cause, expand the impact of the activities, inspire contemporary youth to learn from their predecessors, shoulder responsibilities, continue the struggle, and contribute wisdom and strength to Sino-French friendship.

Yang Zhenbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, stated that as a prestigious institution with a long history and glorious tradition, the university has always been committed to cultivating top talents. Over the years, the university has established close cooperation with several French universities, engaging in diverse educational exchanges and research collaborations. The ParisTech Engineering School has become a model of Sino-French cooperative education. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations, the ParisTech Engineering School, with its international characteristics, has conducted the "Seven Dimensions and One Core" series of activities, making valuable explorations in cultivating engineering and technological talents with both patriotism and global competence. This initiative has played a positive role in enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the youth of China and France, as well as promoting exchanges and mutual learning between the two civilizations.
