Seminar on Innovative Applications of New Power System Industry Held in 2024

On May 23, the Seminar on Innovative Applications of the New Power System Industry in 2024 was held at North China Electric Power University. Participants discussed the achievements in exploring and practicing the construction of new power systems over the past three years.

Xu Chao, Deputy Director of the National Energy Storage Technology Production-Education-Research Integration Innovation Platform at North China Electric Power University, introduced that the platform has completed the construction of energy storage science and engineering, hydrogen science and engineering undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The platform's laboratory covers an area of 5,000 square meters, with a research equipment investment of 120 million yuan. It has been approved for multiple national major projects and has published numerous high-level articles.

It was also revealed at the seminar that the "Compilation of Applications in Key Technological Areas of New Power Systems" was released on-site, including 152 application cases from 88 companies. For instance, State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company piloted the application of new energy blockchain trading technology in Haining County, creating the first "Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration Demonstration Zone" in the country. The "Green Granary," an important supporting facility for the "Three Gorges Hydrogen Boat 1," is the world's first inland river terminal-type hydrogen refueling station, providing green hydrogen fuel and refueling services for the "Three Gorges Hydrogen Boat 1." Longi's independently developed back-contact monocrystalline silicon heterojunction solar cells (HBC) achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 27.30%, once again breaking the world record for the conversion efficiency of single-crystal silicon photovoltaic cells.

Furthermore, the seminar conducted specialized discussions on "New Energy Transmission, New Energy Power Prediction" and "Virtual Power Plants Interacting with Vehicle Networks, New Energy Storage." It invited experts, scholars, enterprise management, and technical executives in related fields to share experiences in the construction of the new power system industry and address industry challenges, aiming to explore new pathways for the high-quality development of new power systems.
