On April 30th, a video of a Lincoln car driving autonomously on the highway while the driver lies down in the back sleeping has sparked discussions among netizens.

According to domestic media reports, today, Lincoln officials responded, stating that based on the video, this may be a Lincoln Navigator, and they do not recommend such operation as shown in the video.

Lincoln cars currently do not support full self-driving. While driving, hands must not leave the steering wheel. As for the video where the driver is clearly not in the driver's seat, how they achieved "driverless driving," Lincoln mentioned they are not aware of the specific circumstances.

The circulated video shows the Lincoln owner boldly activating the intelligent driving assistance feature and attaching a "hand-off device" to the steering wheel to deceive the system's monitoring of "hands-on steering."

After setting up, the owner directly lies down in the back to sleep, letting the vehicle drive autonomously on the highway.

It is known that Lincoln's models sold in China only have Level 2 assisted driving functions, far from meeting the conditions for hands-off driving. Engaging in such autonomous driving behavior is not only risky for others but also for oneself. s_9c55cb6848ef40a4aceac2dcb701ebeb.png
