On April 14th, SanDisk, a brand under Western Digital, unveiled three high-capacity SD memory cards, including a 4TB SDUC, a 2TB SDXC, and a 256GB SD Express.
The top-of-the-line contender is undoubtedly the Extreme Pro SDUC V30, boasting an unprecedented capacity of 4TB, effortlessly handling the recording and playback of 8K ultra-high-definition videos. However, it is expected to be released on the market next year.
SDUC stands for Ultra Capacity, starting at 2TB with a theoretical maximum potential of up to 128TB!
The Extreme Pro SDXC V30 comes in two styles: standard SD card and microSD card. It is SanDisk's first 2TB microSD card, utilizing the UHS-I standard.
SD Express and microSD Express may look similar to other SD cards in appearance, but they utilize the PCIe bus, resulting in faster speeds. With read speeds reaching up to 650MB/s and astonishing write speeds of up to 880MB/s, they are approaching the performance of PCIe 3.0 SSDs. However, their capacity is still limited, currently maxing out at 256GB.
