Samsung S21 Series Update Goes Awry: Green Line Appears on Screens

Reports emerging on April 18 reveal that some Samsung users are experiencing a screen issue following a software update. Affected models include the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

According to user feedback, a thin green line has appeared on the screen after the update, extending from the top to the bottom. s_a6c429100b6440589e6efc2af8f62c8f.jpg There are two explanations for this issue: one suggests a hardware defect in Samsung screens, while the other attributes it to overheating during phone updates, causing detachment of the wiring from the screen soldering points.

As a well-known fact, OLED screens consist of pixels. Unlike LCD, OLED emits light actively and does not require a backlight. Each pixel can emit light independently.

Each pixel of OLED has an independent control circuit to control its on/off state or adjust its brightness to display images and information on the screen.

Due to the arrangement characteristics of OLED, there is a possibility of dead pixels and lines on the phone screen. When these issues occur, the screen may display lines of colors such as red, green, and blue.

To address the green line issue, users need to replace the screen through Samsung's after-sales service. Currently, Samsung has not responded to this issue. s_176437b2978644c9914f550da3d67619.png
