Samsung's S25 Still Features Dual CPUs: In-house Exynos Processors Continuously Lag Behind Qualcomm

Reports on April 3rd reveal that due to the persistent performance gap between Exynos and Qualcomm, Samsung will continue its dual-processor strategy, with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors still appearing in the S25 series.

Earlier reports suggested that the entire Samsung Galaxy S25 series would exclusively feature in-house Exynos processors. To optimize Exynos performance, Samsung even formed a dedicated team and aimed to showcase its achievements through the new S25 lineup, utilizing Samsung's second-generation 3nm process technology.

However, recent rumors suggest that since Exynos is still not sufficient to fully replace Qualcomm Snapdragon, Samsung will maintain its existing dual-processor strategy. Depending on the market, the S25 may be equipped with either the Exynos 2500 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processors, with the highest-end S25 Ultra possibly offering only the Qualcomm processor version.

Data indicates that in the first three quarters of 2023, Samsung purchased nearly 90 trillion Korean won worth of chips from Qualcomm, MediaTek, and others, a 10.4% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

Analysts believe that due to performance issues, Samsung did not fully utilize its in-house Exynos processors in core products like the S24, leading to increased costs. s_5322899b3eb7475ab3a7b258e70995be.jpg
