On April 9th, it was reported that "Sinotrust", a research firm, unveiled the top ten best-selling cars in Russia for March. During that month, Russia's new car sales reached 146,500 units, setting a new monthly sales record since May 2021 and achieving a staggering 2.1-fold increase compared to the same period last year.

Among the top 10 brands in terms of sales, apart from the leading local brand Lada, the remaining nine spots were all taken by Chinese brands. This complete displacement of the once dominant Japanese and Korean car manufacturers indicates the solidified dominance of Chinese cars in the Russian market. 9cb33586-aa6f-4bef-9c9c-81084c50d9c0.png

The Granta sold 18,717 units while the Vesta sold 11,155 units, making them the only two models with sales exceeding ten thousand units for the month.

Additionally, the Lada Niva Travel and Lada Niva Legend also made it into the top ten in terms of sales, with 5,213 and 4,772 units sold respectively, ranking fourth and seventh.

Apart from these four models, the remaining six are all from Chinese brands:

The Haval Jolion (also known as "Guonei Chulian" domestically) takes third place with 6,387 units sold in March; the Geely Monjaro follows with 5,175 units sold, securing the fifth position; the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max holds sixth place with 5,151 units sold; the Emgrand 5 takes eighth place with 3,761 units sold; the Haval M6 follows closely with 3,468 units, securing ninth place; and the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro rounds out the top ten with 3,241 units sold.

It's worth mentioning that among the top ten best-selling cars, SUVs occupy the majority, indicating that SUVs are undoubtedly a good choice for car manufacturers looking to export to Russia. s_7e880442564c4831a72e6de232a85832.png
