On May 2nd, reports of the RTX 4090 12VHPWR 16-pin power connector burning out have become quite common. Typically, the issue arises at the graphics card end, occasionally at the power supply end. However, a Korean netizen encountered a bizarre scene where both ends were charred!
From the images shared, it's evident that both the connector on the graphics card, the one on the power supply, and even the plug on the power cable have two to three charred spots, clearly visible.
The power supply is the latest PCIe 5.0 version, equipped with a dedicated 16-pin connector, ruling out any adapter issues.
What's even more puzzling is that the graphics card wasn't running at full load when it burned out; the netizen intentionally limited it to 75%.
It's truly perplexing; could it be that the quality of a certain component is exceptionally poor?
