Recently, the Market Supervision Administration of Haikou City announced an administrative penalty decision, fining Haikou Zhongsheng Lexus Company 450,000 CNY for price fraud, with the involved manager also being dismissed.
According to earlier reports, Mr. Wang in Haikou signed a purchase intention contract at Haikou Zhongsheng Lexus Automobile Sales Service Co., Ltd. in January this year, paying a 50,000 CNY deposit to buy the latest GX550 model for 931,873 CNY.
However, on the same day he signed the purchase contract, the salesperson called in the afternoon demanding an additional 100,000 CNY service fee, claiming that the car couldn't be sold at the original price.
Following a complaint, the Haikou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, together with the Market Supervision and Administration Department, summoned the relevant person in charge of the 4S dealership suspecting a violation of the Price Law.
The on-site customer service manager, facing the on-site law enforcement and publicity work of two departments, remained assertive. The person in charge of Haikou Zhongsheng Lexus Automobile Sales Service Co., Ltd. stated, "Then go ahead and file a case, and we'll evaluate it."
