Renowned Car Critic Accuses Lexus of Faking Touch-to-Open Door Technology, Netizens Capture Truth

On May 3rd, at this year's Beijing Auto Show, Lexus showcased a concept car equipped with electrostatic touch-sensitive door switches. By simply touching the car window, the door would automatically open.

However, recently, a well-known automotive blogger, "Blood旌旗," raised doubts about Lexus's electrostatic touch-to-open door technology, alleging it to be fraudulent.

According to his video explanation, while a spectator was experiencing the electrostatic touch door switch, a Japanese individual nearby was seen manipulating a remote control. It appeared that the remote control was used to open the door while the spectator was trying to open it.

The blogger bluntly stated that if they couldn't even get this kind of technology right, it speaks volumes about how weak the technical reserves of Japanese cars are currently. It's no wonder that various Japanese car manufacturers in China are reducing production.

However, in response to netizens' doubts about Lexus's alleged falsification of the electrostatic touch-to-open door method, some netizens conducted real-life verification.

One netizen mentioned that after communicating with Lexus representatives at the booth, he held the remote control without pressing any buttons to observe if the vehicle could automatically sense and open the door.

The video showed the netizen briefly touching the car window, causing the door to open automatically. None of them manipulated the remote control, contrary to the previous understanding of "remote control" by netizens.

As explained, this remote control is actually a vehicle status controller that can independently operate various components. At the auto show, it can prevent the door from opening frequently when touched after cleaning, rather than Lexus falsifying through remote control. s_96d3501d4dd94ee182d3dd977af2da20.png
