At the Galaxy global new product launch held in July last year, Samsung unveiled the all-new Galaxy Watch6 series smartwatches, including two versions: Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic.
Now, as time progresses, leaked information about Samsung's next-generation smartwatch - the Galaxy Watch7 series, has started to surface.
Previous leaks mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 series will include three versions: the Galaxy Watch7, Watch7 Classic, and Watch7 Ultra.
Recently, an online leak showcased a rendered image of the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra.
Based on the rendered images, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra still features a circular dial, but compared to traditional circular dials, the Ultra version has external borders that are closer to square, giving it a slightly more angular look overall.
According to leaks, the circular screen of the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra has a diameter of 1.5 inches, identical to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic. Additionally, its overall dimensions are approximately 47 x 47.4 x 16.4 millimeters, slightly larger than the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic's 46.5 x 46.5 x 10.9 millimeters.
In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra features a third circular button in the middle on the right side. This new button, positioned between the traditional two buttons, offers new functionality for the Galaxy watch, similar to the "Action Button" on the Apple Watch Ultra.
In terms of sensors, unlike the circular sensor on the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic, the circular array on the back of the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra consists of independent circular and square components. It is worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra retains the temperature sensor, but its position has shifted slightly towards the center.
The strap of the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra seems to seamlessly integrate with the watch body, providing a cleaner look. Additionally, next to the sensor array, there are two button-like elements at the top and bottom, possibly used for detaching the strap.
Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra features larger speaker grilles.
There are several small "holes" on the body of the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra, speculated to be microphones. Samsung appears to be focusing on enhancing the microphone and audio experience of the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra.
According to previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 series will come with a new chipset, offering 50% faster charging compared to its predecessors, and may introduce blood glucose monitoring functionality.
For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic comes in 43mm and 47mm sizes, featuring a rotating bezel.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series features a Super AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 2000 nits, supports full-color AOD, and is protected by a sapphire crystal layer on top of the screen; it is powered by the new Exynos W930 chipset, with a maximum frequency increase of 18% up to 1.4 GHz; it has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage; and it is IP68 certified.
The battery capacities of the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic are 425mAh for the 44mm regular version and 47mm Classic version, and 300mAh for the 40mm regular version and 43mm Classic version. The official claim is that the battery life can reach up to 30 hours with AoD on and up to 40 hours with AoD off.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series features the Samsung BioActive body vitality sensor, which monitors various health data such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure, as well as key body data like skeletal muscle weight, basal metabolism, body water content, and body fat percentage. It also provides comprehensive monitoring of the wearer's sleep status, generating sleep reports and offering sleep guidance advice.
