On April 2nd, Redmi's brand-new Turbo series will debut with its first model, the Turbo 3, set to be launched in April, featuring the latest third-generation Snapdragon 8s flagship chip.
Today, Redmi's brand manager, Wang Teng, addressed questions regarding the rationale behind introducing the new series, why they opted for the Snapdragon 8 series flagship chip in mid-range devices, and whether they are confident in facing challenges from competitors.
According to Wang Teng, Redmi's new decade comes with new goals. Firstly, the K series will continue to expand into the high-end market, enhancing Redmi's brand influence.
Secondly, the introduction of the Turbo new series aims to create the strongest performance mid-range devices to cater to a broader audience of young users.
"In the mid-range segment, while there is a wide variety of products available, very few excel in terms of performance. By establishing the Turbo series independently, we hope to unleash a whirlwind of flagship performance in the mid-range market," Wang Teng remarked.
It is understood that with the support of the third-generation Snapdragon 8s, the Redmi Turbo 3 scored over 1.7 million in benchmarks at Xiaomi Labs, while the Redmi K70, equipped with the second-generation Snapdragon 8, scored 1.71 million.
Overall, both chips are positioned similarly with their respective advantages, and Wang Teng will provide detailed insights during the launch event.
