On April 8th, news broke that the Redmi Turbo 3 is set for its debut on April 10th at 19:00. This device will mark the debut of the first batch equipped with the third-generation Snapdragon 8s flagship chipset.

Wang Teng, the General Manager of the Redmi brand, stated, "The Snapdragon 8 series is Qualcomm's most flagship processor series, representing the highest performance for Android. The genuine 8 series is indeed expensive, with nearly a billion invested according to the calculation methods of our peers."

Wang Teng emphasized that the chipset constitutes the most expensive part of the entire device. Reflecting on the current prices of the Snapdragon 8 series, even last year's 8Gen2 now starts at a minimum of 2300 CNY. Therefore, achieving a price below 2000 CNY for the Turbo 3 is impossible. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0408%2Fe15d121bj00sbm887009rd000go00cag.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg It's reported that last year, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo was equipped with the second-generation Snapdragon 7+ chip, starting at 8GB+256GB and priced from 1999 CNY.

This year, the Redmi Turbo 3 starts with a 12GB+256GB version. For comparison, the Note 12 Turbo with 12GB+512GB is priced at 2299 CNY upon release. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0408%2Fd7ba1076j00sbm8870030d000go00cvg.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg Given the backdrop of the debut of the third-generation Snapdragon 8s flagship chipset and the industry-wide surge in memory prices, it's quite possible that the starting price of the Redmi Turbo 3 may indeed surpass the 2000 CNY mark.

It's worth noting that following the price announcement at the launch event, Wang Teng might also declare a limited-time offer of "xxx CNY" for the new device. However, whether there will be any discounts or not will only be revealed at the end of the event.

As for the performance, according to Wang Teng, the Redmi Turbo 3 has undergone media testing, and in terms of benchmark scores and gaming performance, the third-generation Snapdragon 8s chipset boasts performance comparable to the second-generation Snapdragon 8, with even better energy efficiency in some scenarios.
