April 9th Update: According to Lu Weibing from Xiaomi Group, when deciding on the chip direction for Redmi Turbo 3 last year, the initial plan was to continue using the Snapdragon 7+ platform. However, Wang Teng suggested later on that they should aim to directly select the 8 series chip.
As a result, we engaged in discussions with Qualcomm and jointly defined and deeply refined this new 8s Snapdragon platform. Due to our large volume, the additional cost incurred is also around the 1 billion mark.
Redmi's Wang Teng pointed out that the true 8 series chipset does come at a higher cost. Despite investing nearly one billion, we believe it's all worth it to ensure that Turbo 3 can achieve flagship-level performance.
Additionally, compared to the FHD screen on last year's Note 12 Turbo, the Turbo 3 features a brand-new 1.5K screen, marking a comprehensive upgrade.
Firstly, this is a flagship-grade 1.5K screen that rivals flagship products costing over 3000 CNY in terms of basic specifications, brightness, color accuracy, and color calibration. Secondly, it boasts an unprecedented eye-protection screen in the same category, with Xiaomi's Qingshan eye-protection technology and hardware-level low blue light.
With the all-new current-generation 8 series flagship processor, a comprehensive upgrade to flagship-spec 1.5K screen, and leading-edge Ice-Sealed Cooling Technology, the Turbo 3 kicks off with a dream configuration. You can also see that products on the market equipped with Snapdragon 8 series chips and 1.5K screens start at around 2300 CNY.
The device will be officially launched on April 10th.
