On March 19th, Xiaomi's Wang Teng announced that the first batch of Redmi's new series will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen3 mobile platform.

Wang Teng stated that according to our internal calculations, opting for the new 8 series entails an additional investment of nearly 1 billion compared to using the 7 series, which indeed poses significant pressure. s_6da0605fb3db4f9c8942a6e4988a010c.jpg Wang Teng also emphasized that not resorting to a "downgraded version" is an attitude. When Redmi takes action, it's with the Snapdragon 8 series, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to producing quality products.

Reportedly, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 utilizes TSMC's 4nm process, featuring a CPU architecture of 1+4+3. This includes one super core with a clock speed of up to 3.0GHz, four performance cores with a clock speed of up to 2.8GHz, and three efficiency cores with a clock speed of 2.0GHz.

At the IP level, it inherits the same CPU architecture as the third-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship platform, achieving excellent performance and power efficiency balance.

In terms of performance, compared to the previous flagship chips of competitors, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 exhibits a 20% performance advantage in multi-threaded performance according to Geekbench 6 benchmarks.

This chip debuts with the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, with other brands like Honor, iQOO, Redmi, and Realme set to adopt it in their upcoming models. It's definitely something to look forward to. s_e04bee8cfc7d46ee85867f76f22f532a.jpg
