On March 18th, in celebration of the 5th anniversary of the Redmi brand's independence, Redmi officially announced the launch of a new series as part of its new decade initiative.
It's reported that the new Redmi series smartphones will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 series (the third-generation Snapdragon 8 series mobile platform) for the first time in the mid-range segment, promising a significant performance boost beyond expectations.
According to reports, the third-generation Snapdragon 8s Mobile Platform and the third-generation Snapdragon 8 are essentially the same, both using a 4nm process. The CPU follows a 1+4+3 design, comprising one super core (3.0GHz Cortex-X4), four performance cores (2.8GHz Cortex-A720), and three efficiency cores (2.0GHz Cortex-A520). The GPU is the Adreno 735.
As per Wang Teng's statement, Qualcomm positions the new 8 series 8s Gen3 between the latest flagship platform 8 Gen3 and the previous flagship 8 Gen2, representing a new generation flagship platform.
Currently, the specific naming of the new Redmi series phones has not been disclosed. However, it's highly likely that they will no longer continue with the existing K and Note series naming system. Further details are awaited for official announcement.
