Redmi has begun teasing their new smartphone series today, March 21, and has announced the phones will officially launch in April.
The upcoming Redmi series will reportedly be the first series to feature the third-generation Snapdragon 888 flagship chip, with a benchmark score of over 1.7 million.
This is also the first time the latest Snapdragon 8 series has been brought to the mid-range market, aiming to drive performance innovation and reshape the performance landscape in this segment.
Redmi said that this time, regardless of cost and with huge investment, it jointly defined a flagship chip with Qualcomm to bring users an extremely powerful flagship performance experience.
Xiaomi originally intended for the Redmi Note 13 Turbo to be their performance-focused release for the first half of the year. However, it appears that the inclusion of the third-generation Snapdragon 8s has led to a change of plans, resulting in the creation of a new Redmi series.
The third-generation Snapdragon 8s utilizes TSMC's 4nm process and shares its CPU architecture with the third-generation Snapdragon 8. This includes a single 3.0GHz peak performance core, four 2.8GHz performance cores, and three 2.0GHz efficiency cores.
Based on GeekBench 6 multi-core benchmark data, the third-generation Snapdragon 8s demonstrates a CPU performance advantage of around 20% over its similarly positioned competitors.
