On March 18th, news broke this afternoon that Qualcomm's 3rd generation Snapdragon 8s mobile platform was officially released, with Xiaomi's Civi 4 Pro being the first to feature it.

In addition, the official Redmi smartphone account announced that the new Redmi series will be among the first to incorporate the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8s. This marks the first time the brand-new Snapdragon 8 series is making its entry into the mid-range market, aiming to “drive innovation and reshape the mid-range performance landscape.”

It is understood that the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8s is manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process, inheriting the same CPU architecture as the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8. It includes a super core with a clock speed of 3.0GHz, four performance cores at 2.8GHz, and three efficiency cores at 2.0GHz.

At present, it’s still unclear which specific model will be the first in the new Redmi series. It could possibly be the previously leaked Redmi Note 13 Turbo, renamed and established as a new series, but official details are yet to be announced.

Following Redmi's previous plans, the Note series now releases two generations of models each year, with the first half of the year focusing on performance-oriented models, and the second half focusing on models that popularize new technologies across the board. s_d4610fc025e54a3a994fa4adf730ca65.jpg
