On March 26th, according to CCTV News, a magnificent aurora appeared in the sky above Nehe City, Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province on the evening of the 25th, due to the influence of geomagnetic storm activity, presenting an astonishing scene.

Video footage shows pink auroras illuminating the sky over Nehe, resembling the sky being painted with a layer of pink blush, creating a truly awe-inspiring effect.

Currently, geomagnetic storm activity has begun to gradually weaken. However, due to the relatively active solar activity this year, aurora enthusiasts will still have opportunities to observe more auroral phenomena in the future.

It is understood that the cause of this spectacular phenomenon is geomagnetic storm activity. When solar storms release high-energy particles and electromagnetic radiation towards the Earth, the Earth's magnetic field attracts these particles to the high atmosphere near the North and South Poles.

Subsequently, charged particles in the geomagnetic field enter the Earth's atmosphere along magnetic field lines, collide with molecules and atoms in the atmosphere, causing them to emit fluorescence, forming the phenomenon we commonly refer to as auroras. Sce6bf1ad-74f2-47b1-8d22-a90cc89614ea.png
