"The Prosperous Song of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty" Exhibition Opens at National Classic Literature Museum

Starting from May 1st, the exhibition "The Prosperous Song of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty," organized by the China Cultural Relics Exchange Center, the National Library (National Classic Literature Museum), the Cultural and Tourism Bureau of Xianyang City, and Beijing Zhongchuang International Exhibition Co., Ltd., is now open to the public at the National Classic Literature Museum. 6631b850e4b03b5da6d0e0f6.jpg Exhibition Poster: Zhang Peng Photography

This exhibition marks the first large-scale exhibition in Beijing focusing on the theme of the Zhenguan era. Centered around the life of Emperor Li Shimin, it showcases his extraordinary talent, far-sighted vision, as well as his human side. Through the exhibition, visitors can journey through the river of history, experiencing the brilliance of the Tang Dynasty, and understanding the diverse yet unified, open and inclusive, and relentlessly self-improving spirit of the Chinese nation. The exhibition is included as a significant event in the 12th Beijing Cultural Consumption Season.

A total of 249 exhibits from 140 sets have been carefully selected from 15 cultural and historical institutions such as the Zhaoling Museum, Ningxia Guyuan Museum, and Zhenjiang Museum. These exhibits include pottery figurines, gold and silverware, glassware, stone sculptures, and tomb epitaphs, presenting the advanced material and spiritual civilization of the Tang Dynasty from multiple perspectives, offering a cultural and aesthetic feast from the era of the Great Tang.

Among the precious artifacts on display are first-class cultural relics such as the epitaph of Wei Chi Jingde, the Smiling Lady painting, and the gold-painted glazed pottery official figurine from the Zhaoling Museum, the gilded silver pot from the Ningxia Guyuan Museum, and the stone carving of the Hu dance on a tomb gate from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum. 6631b8a4e4b0c2b5b68d03a5.jpg Smiling Beauty. The National Library has carefully selected treasures from its collection, including a rubbings of the Northern Song Dynasty's "Inscription on the Li Palace's Liquor Spring" and a woodblock edition of "Essentials of Good Governance of the Zhenguan Era" from the third year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1370), to complement the exhibition and delight the audience. 6631b9d9e4b0c2b5b68d03ac.jpg The "Essentials of Good Governance of the Zhenguan Era" in ten volumes. The exhibition also features multimedia immersive projections that combine entertainment and knowledge, as well as a diverse range of cultural and creative products, enriching the audience's exhibition experience from multiple dimensions, angles, and levels.

The exhibition will run from May 1, 2024, to August 25, 2024.
