Pulsestacks reports on April 17 that Cloud Imperium Games studio has recently launched a pre-release Alpha version of "Star Citizen" and updated the PC system requirements for the game. The new requirements specify that graphics cards must have at least 4GB of VRAM and support Vulkan 1.2. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0417%2F46db1d9ej00sc2trg006od0018g00p0g.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg In the current gaming industry, such configuration requirements are not high. Cloud Imperium Games studio specifies NVIDIA's GTX 1060, Intel's A380, and AMD's RX 460 series graphics cards as the minimum specification cards, and even Intel's UHD Graphics 730 integrated graphics can run the alpha version of Star Citizen. ?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdingyue.ws.126.net%2F2024%2F0417%2F2d8e44a9j00sc2trg001sd000kt00iog.jpg&thumbnail=660x2147483647&quality=80&type=jpg The game "Star Citizen" now requires a minimum of 100GB of solid-state drive space. It's evident from the StarEngine tech demo released by the studio at the end of last year that this expansive space RPG game is quite storage-intensive.

Cloud Imperium Games is currently developing the new "Gen 12 Renderer" to bring superior performance and is transitioning to the Vulkan API.

In addition to the official system requirements, Cloud Imperium Games also provides the following information regarding the PC version of "Star Citizen," as listed by pulsestacks:

  • "Star Citizen" does not support macOS or Linux.
  • The game requires a computer capable of running AVX instructions, as mentioned in the CPU requirements above.
  • "Star Citizen" needs a GPU with at least 4GB of VRAM and installed drivers that support Vulkan 1.2.
  • Graphics drivers must be updated to the latest version to ensure optimal gaming experience.
