With the continuous improvement of health awareness, checkups have become an indispensable part of our lives. However, many people find the checkup process "not so pleasant" - hungry mornings, endless queues, crowded seats... Have you ever thought that it may be because the checkup time is not properly chosen?
The phenomenon that "checkups are concentrated at the end of the year and the beginning of the next" has long been an undisputed fact in the industry. This results in a "peak season" for checkups, which brings not only great pressure to the checkup institutions, but also greatly affects the user experience.
Thankfully, many "sensitive" users have already discovered this problem. Recently, when browsing e-commerce platforms, it was found that in March, which was widely regarded as the off-season for checkups, various checkup services were relatively hot. Consumption data from JD Health shows that from March 1st to 20th this year, checkup services showed a significant "off-season" trend, with the number of orders increasing by more than 10 times year on year.
Working in Beijing's Chaoyang District, Mr. Li recently arranged a checkup for himself. He said that in previous years, he always chose to have his checkup at the end of the year, "I always feel that at the end of the year, I should give my body an account." However, this period is also the time when various units (companies) conduct centralized checkups, "Not only is it troublesome to put on and take off clothes in winter, but there are also many people, which is very time-consuming. The last time I did this, there were few people and I hardly had to queue at all. I felt that the staff service was more considerate."
In addition to the better experience, Mr. Li also found that the same checkup package is much cheaper to buy in the so-called "off-season", with some prices even less than half of the original price. In this regard, industry insiders said that March, April, July, and August of each year are recognized as the off-season in the checkup industry, and checkup institutions often increase the number of service orders through larger discounts and concession activities.
From March 1st to 31st, users could search "off-season physical exam" on the JD app to access discounted physical exam services starting at 25% off. JD E-cards, blood pressure monitors, and other goodies were also available. The JD Health Physical Exam Center (Yizhuang location) also provided 25% off on physical exam packages and offered Invisalign braces starting at 50% off. Users who visited the clinic during the event received complimentary citric acid calcium or bone density testing.
Industry experts suggest that the rise of "off-season exams" is not only due to increased health awareness but also reflects consumers' growing demand for cost-effectiveness in healthcare services. As more people discover the benefits of "off-season exams," this trend is expected to gain wider acceptance and adoption.
