April 8th, according to domestic media reports, during this year's Qingming holiday, the Shuidun Interchange section of Jiebo Expressway, under Guangdong Traffic Group, witnessed the presence of "sky traffic police" drones conducting intelligent patrols in the air.
Officials stated that to better understand the traffic conditions on the managed road sections and to timely divert traffic, Jiebo Expressway selected sections with large traffic flow as pilot areas and deployed drones equipped with an automatic takeoff and landing system for the first time.
The automatic takeoff and landing system of the drones features functions such as automatic folding and unfolding, automatic charging, video communication, and data transmission, allowing inspections within a radius of 5 kilometers to be completed in just over ten minutes.
Upon arrival at the scene, the duty personnel no longer manually fly the drones as before. Instead, the drones feature an automatic takeoff and landing system, eliminating the need for personnel to physically reach the site.
Capable of 24-hour patrols, these drones autonomously follow preset routes to execute their surveillance tasks. Staff stationed in the monitoring center can promptly monitor traffic conditions within designated areas via large screens, providing vital insights for surveillance and incident response.
Moreover, equipped with loudspeakers, the drones are ready to address minor accidents. After capturing real-time photographic evidence, they can vocally instruct individuals involved in the accident to clear the area promptly, mitigating the risk of further incidents.
