On May 2nd, it is well known that the giant panda is a national treasure of China and a unique species native to the country.

Recently, a video shared by a netizen has attracted a lot of attention, with many people expressing that the most compelling evidence proving pandas as a unique Chinese species has been found.

In the video, a giant panda named "Pang Dahai" is getting ready to rest. Surprisingly, it skillfully grabs a towel placed on its head and covers its belly, resembling the act of covering itself with a blanket.

This action has left netizens deeply moved, with many stating that it reflects the inherent genes of Chinese people - no matter how thick the clothing, they must cover their belly when sleeping. If there was only one leaf in the world, it would surely be placed on the belly button of a Chinese person. Its main habitat is in the mountainous areas surrounding the Sichuan Basin in central-western China and the Qinling Mountains in southern Shaanxi.

Similar to other bears, pandas are omnivores, transitioning from carnivorous to herbivorous, with bamboo being their primary food source. They also consume grass, wild fruits, insects, bamboo rats, and small rodents.

Scientists believe that the giant panda possesses physiological characteristics of carnivores but does not primarily consume meat due to the deactivation of a gene called "T1R1," which results in the inability to taste the freshness of meat.

The giant panda is classified as an endangered species in China's Red List of Endangered Animals. It is hailed as a living fossil in the biological world and has a large fan base worldwide. Since the establishment of the World Wide Fund for Nature in 1961, the giant panda has been its symbol. 14b172c2-7428-4f0f-b4da-5c7e9327ac8e.png
