"Capital Academician Expert Lecture Series" commences with focus on medicine

Zhao Jizong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the National Clinical Research Center for Neurological Diseases, Han Demin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the China International Exchange Promotion Association for Medical and Health Care, and director of the Beijing Expert Association, along with Professor Ma Changsheng from Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, Professor Wang Yongjun from Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, Professor Ji Jiafu from Peking University Cancer Hospital, and Professor Wang Quanyi from Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control attended the event and gave academic lectures. The six academicians and experts respectively gave special lectures on topics such as "Public Health in the New Era," "Cyber Neurosurgery," "Research on Brain Aging Assessment and Clinical Applications," "How to Embrace the New Era of AI Doctors," "Advancements in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastric Cancer," and "Key Technologies for the Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Diseases." They discussed cutting-edge scientific theories, shared a feast of medical knowledge, and interacted warmly with medical frontline workers.

At the opening ceremony, Zhang Ruobing, deputy minister of the Organization Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee and director of the Municipal Bureau of Talents, said that holding the "Capital Academician Expert Lecture Hall" is an important measure to deepen the integrated development of talents between the central and local governments and to leverage the role of intellectual resources in the capital. It is also an important platform for in-depth exchanges of scientific and technological achievements and for open cooperation. In the future, cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering will be continuously deepened, and a series of thematic activities related to new productive forces will be organized to jointly build a brand for talent exchange and cooperation between the central and local governments.

Shi Bing, deputy director of the Department of Academician Affairs of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out that the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Municipality have taken practical measures in jointly building national strategic talent forces, jointly establishing talent exchange platforms, jointly conducting decision-making consultations, and jointly strengthening academician services, achieving positive results. In the next step, the Chinese Academy of Sciences will continue to strengthen the construction of a high-level talent team, vigorously promote the spirit of scientists, continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation between the central and local governments, and make greater contributions to promoting high-quality development in the capital.

Huang Haitao, deputy director of the Third Department of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that the growing number of academicians in Beijing demonstrates a good momentum for the vigorous development of the capital's talent cause. The Chinese Academy of Engineering has maintained close relations with Beijing Municipality, signing multiple cooperation agreements and establishing service cooperation platforms to promote continuous research and application of innovative technologies. In the future, the Chinese Academy of Engineering will continue to strengthen cooperation with Beijing Municipality in high-level talent services and other aspects, contributing to the economic and social development, technological progress, and talent cultivation in Beijing.

Hu Wenliang, secretary of the Capital Medical University, introduced the introduction and cultivation of top talents at the Capital Medical University. He stated that Capital Medical University is willing to work with all sectors of society to improve the institutional mechanisms for talent-led development, continuously enhance the innovation and transformation capabilities of medical science and technology, and make greater contributions to the self-reliance and self-improvement of high-level medical science and technology and the independent cultivation of high-quality medical talents.
