Upon checking Pulsestacks, it was found that a Weibo user named "YellowLegsIntestine" expressed: "Can Lei Jun produce a camera comparable to Fujifilm XS20 or X100V, as well as the Canon G7X series, and lower the high prices of these two?"
This Weibo post has received over 20,000 likes and over a thousand comments. Many netizens have expressed their agreement, hoping that Xiaomi will launch domestically produced cameras.
As of the time of Pulsestacks' post, there has been no response from Lei Jun or the official Xiaomi account regarding this Weibo.
The camera market, although niche, has consistently maintained high prices. While many domestic lens manufacturers have lowered their prices, there are still no mainstream domestic competitors in the camera body segment.
Furthermore, due to recent hype, the prices of many second-hand cameras have skyrocketed, leading to situations where demand outweighs supply, leaving many prospective buyers frustrated.
In fact, Xiaomi's ecosystem company, Xiaoyi Technology, has launched multiple camera products. Among them, in 2016, they released the Xiaoyi M1 mirrorless camera, equipped with a 20.16-megapixel Sony IMX269 sensor, interchangeable lenses with a Micro Four Thirds format, priced at 2199 CNY, claiming to be "the first smart mirrorless camera for young people."
