The latest AnTuTu Android smartphone performance rankings are out, and it's evident that the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and Dimensity 9300 have left their mark after a fierce battle.
At the end of last year, both Qualcomm and MediaTek unveiled their flagship processors, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and Dimensity 9300, igniting a thrilling competition in the smartphone industry.
In the flagship category, the gaming-focused ROG 8 Pro narrowly edged out the OPPO Find X7, securing the top spot on the flagship smartphone performance chart with an impressive average score exceeding 2.14 million.
While the OPPO Find X7, which held the top position for the past two months, was overtaken by the ROG 8 Pro, it remains a highly competitive choice among flagship smartphones, boasting comprehensive features and capabilities.
Relying solely on hardware upgrades doesn't necessarily lead to a qualitative leap. It's been noted that the ROG 8 Pro has upgraded to the Matrix Liquid Cooling Architecture 8.0, along with a rare mid-board design within the entire smartphone realm. Additionally, it introduces new heat dissipation copper columns, coupled with the Cool Fan X, to the point where condensation may even occur on the back of the phone when the fan is powered on. Compared to traditional flagship smartphones, the ROG 8 Pro sees a significant performance boost under such luxurious cooling conditions.
On the other hand, the OPPO Find X7 is powered by the Dimensity 9300, the first smartphone SoC to adopt a fully large-core architecture, utilizing TSMC's third-generation 4nm process. Unlike the innovative all-large-core CPU architecture, it includes 4 Cortex-X4 super-large cores and 4 Cortex-A720 large cores. The super-large cores can reach a maximum frequency of 3.25GHz, while the large cores operate at 2.0GHz. It's also equipped with 8MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system cache, resulting in a 40% peak performance increase while saving 33% in power consumption compared to similar performance levels.
The third spot goes to the consistently reliable iQOO 12, which comes as no surprise given its balanced performance in design, imaging, and overall capabilities.
Rounding out the fourth to tenth positions are the Red Magic 9 Pro+, vivo X100 Pro, iQOO Neo9 Pro, iQOO 12 Pro, vivo X100, Nubia Z60 Ultra, and OPPO Find X7 Ultra, with no major changes due to the absence of new flagship releases from manufacturers.
Overall, both the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 and the Dimensity 9300 can be considered top-tier chips of this generation, with the latter's impressive temperature performance under heavy load adding to the user experience, thereby challenging manufacturers to cater to user preferences effectively.
On the sub-flagship ranking, the OnePlus Ace 3V, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 processor, dubbed as the "Little Gen3", clinched the top spot with an average benchmark score of 1,466,728.
The OnePlus Ace 3V debuts with the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ mobile platform, combined with AI performance optimization and the flagship-grade Tidal architecture, achieving a balanced fusion of high performance and low power consumption, making it a solid choice within its price range.
Due to the strong performance of the OnePlus Ace 3V, other models have all shifted down one position accordingly. Following closely are the Redmi K70E and realme GT Neo5 SE, ranking second and third with scores of 1,391,125 and 1,156,867, respectively. The rankings of other models remain mostly consistent with last month.
