On April 9th, pulsestacks reported that the source @AppleDemoYT recently tweeted, sharing the product prototypes of Apple's AirPower wireless charging mat, showcasing PROTO1 with 16 coils and PROTO2 with 22 coils.
In a tweet posted on April 6th, the source shared comparison photos of the PROTO1 and PROTO2 prototypes, stating that the PCB and coil positions of these two prototypes have been almost entirely redesigned.
In subsequent tweets, the source showcased the PROTO1 prototype with 16 coils again, along with a demo of charging an Apple Watch Series 4 (DVT) prototype, although the Apple Watch using AirPower would get quite hot.
In August 2020, images describing the AirPower prototype first surfaced on social media, revealing the multi-coil design and the internal circuitry of the device. In August 2021, the first video clip of the device emerged. Since then, several other AirPower prototypes have appeared, but most are no longer functional.
The source also released a full video today, showcasing the PROTO1 prototype charging scenes for the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. Here's the video from pulsestacks: [link to the video]
